LEADERSHIP

GABE THOMAS

CEO/Managing Partner

With deep roots in the building industry, Gabe Thomas brings a lifetime of experience and a forward-thinking mindset to residential development. He grew up on construction sites with his father’s company, where he developed an early appreciation for how homes and communities shape lives. That early exposure laid the groundwork for his passion for building with purpose.

As CEO of RP Communities, Gabe is focused on creating well-designed, attainable neighborhoods that reflect long-term vision and intentional planning. Known for his thoughtful approach and strong leadership, Gabe has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality communities that align with both homeowner needs and city goals.

Before launching RP Communities, Gabe was Co-owner of Collier Construction, where he played a key role in the company’s growth and in pioneering several innovative developments throughout the Chattanooga area.

Gabe holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an M.B.A. from Tennessee Tech University. He is actively involved in both industry and civic leadership. He serves as Vice President of the Executive Board of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga (HBAGC), is a past President of the HBAGC, and currently sits on the Board of Trustees for The Bright School. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for the UTC College of Business.

Gabe resides in Chattanooga with his wife, Ginger, and their two daughters, Harper and Izzy. His work continues to reflect his belief that development should enhance both individual lives and the greater community.

TREY MOSS

Managing Partner

Trey is responsible for running all facets of the business, from land acquisition to construction. Trey’s entrepreneurial roots run deep, learning the value of hard work and bold vision through his grandfather’s successful dairy farm and his father’s subsequent drive-thru concept, Golden Gallon.

Trey cut his teeth working for the well-known convenience store shortly after graduating from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Performing cost analyses and studying traffic patterns to determine new locations laid the foundation of his career as a developer.

His foray into the field began in 2003 when he joined The Big Canoe Company, an upscale mountain community located just an hour north of Atlanta. As vice president of development Trey oversaw expansion of the highly sought-after community. Working from concept to completion he partnered with civil engineers for land design and layout, managed the construction process, developed new site plans, and navigated all details in infrastructure including roads and sewer.

Since leaving Big Canoe, Trey has played a role in the development of communities and the construction of homes in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee – totaling more than 1,000 homes.

From the beginning, the Chattanooga native has remained focused on building developments and homes with quality, integrity, and sustainability – promoting community involvement and green spaces. While he enjoys being involved on every level, he ultimately recognizes his most important role is to create a climate where others can realize their own vision and accomplish goals.

Trey is an avid UT fan and outdoorsman, enjoying upland bird hunting, bicycling, and fishing. He lives on Lookout Mountain with his wife, Jane Brooks, and their two children, Raymond and Morgan.

Austen Young

PURCHASING AGENT

Austen Young planned on teaching high school history after college but decided to explore other career opportunities before fully jumping into education. Austen’s first job out of college was with a cabinetry company, which led him to his next job with a homebuilder as a warranty technician. From there, Austen worked with two other home builders in various roles before joining the team at RP as a purchasing agent.

“I had worked for other builders in more of an on-site capacity, and I decided I wanted a change of pace,” Austen says. “RP was hiring for a purchasing agent position, which I had previous experience in. I discussed the opportunity with a few employees I already knew, and I figured it would be a good fit. I was right. RP has been a great place to work, and our preconstruction team, specifically, is always looking for ways to improve and grow. There are new and exciting things coming up frequently here at RP, but I am particularly looking forward to our growing presence in the Knoxville market.”

When he’s not working, Austen enjoys hunting, spending time with his family, pickup basketball, and cutting his grass.

Building a home is a very exciting time and can be stressful, but I aim to be there for our buyers and put their minds at ease.”

Outside of work, you can find Brittney working out at Orange Theory, traveling with her husband, cuddling with her two cats Cleo and Phil, reading all the books, baking sourdough bread, and listening to podcasts. Brittney also loves to be outdoors.

“By joining the team at RP, I saw an opportunity to work for great leadership within a product type that I believe in wholeheartedly,” Conry says. “We are in the midst of a housing crisis and historic undersupply, especially in the Southeastern United States. RP Communities aims to curb that issue, primarily in the attainable pricing range, where homebuyers feel the brunt of that unaffordability the most. I felt I could come in and immediately contribute to the finance team by adding a fresh perspective, as I come from an adjacent but different space in the housing industry.”

“I was looking for a company where I could grow professionally while also feeling like I made a difference,” Dana says. “I am so excited to be a part of RP because the more we grow, the more opportunities there are within the company. I have been able to work directly with every department as my role(s) have changed over the years. It's forced me to grow professionally in ways that would never be possible at other companies.”
